My Story

Born in Wellington, New Zealand, I made Sydney, Australia, my home some years ago. I enjoyed a long, fulfilling career as a registered nurse and midwife, but it was time for a change. Creativity was calling.

Once my creative skills were found to be expressive in various artistic enterprises, I now channel them into wildlife photography. It’s my lifeblood, and I’m living the dream!

My love of photography and travel has taken me throughout Australia, Antarctica, Argentina, Bhutan, Botswana, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, East Greenland, Egypt, Ethiopia, Falkland Islands, Galapagos Islands, Iceland, India, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Madagascar, New Zealand, Reunion Island, Russia, South Africa, South America, South Georgia, Sweden, Tanzania, Uganda, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

It is an adventurous journey, and one of its many wonderful aspects is the mystery—never knowing where it will lead.

I’ve witnessed the raw and incomparable beauty of nature, of the animal kingdom in its natural habitat. However, witnessing the mistreatment of animals led me to a desire to make a difference. This desire extended beyond my initial goal of showcasing and paying homage to wildlife through my pictures towards a focus on animal health and science.

So, with a newfound sense of purpose, I undertook a Master of Wildlife Health and Conservation. My studies have enhanced my understanding of animal health, which is closely related to human health and is now called ‘One Health’.

Combining what I’ve learned and what I continue to observe through photography, I hope to educate people on wildlife health and conservation. It is only through education that we can understand and work towards protecting wildlife and our environment for future generations.

“the natural world is the greatest source of excitement, the greatest source of visual beauty, the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.”  David Attenborough
